Fear of Missing Out

"Fear of Missing Out," often abbreviated as FOMO, is a psychological phenomenon characterized by a pervasive apprehension that others might be having rewarding experiences from which one is absent.

This fear is exacerbated by the constant exposure to social media, where people often see posts and updates about others engaging in activities, attending events, or experiencing things that they are not part of. It can lead to feelings of anxiety, envy, and a constant desire to stay connected with what others are doing, often at the expense of one's own real-life experiences and happiness.

FOMO can drive people to continually check their phones, and social media, and constantly seek out new experiences or engagements, sometimes leading to overcommitment and stress.
